SECTION
E - CUSTODY OF CHILDREN |
| |
1. ADVICE OF CUSTODY ARRANGEMENTS
The school should be advised in writing of any special or unusual
custody arrangements concerning children at school. If one parent is
denied access to a child through normal legal channels, this information
should be relayed to the school executive and will be treated in
confidence. Should custody arrangements change at any time, it is
essential that we are advised in writing.
Both parents are entitled to separate Parent/Teacher interviews at
school when a child lives with one parent but regularly sees the other
for weekend visits etc. Similarly, copies of school progress reports are
made available separately to both parents if requested in writing.
2. REMOVAL OF CHILDREN DURING SCHOOL HOURS
• All parents coming to school in school hours are to sign in at the
office if they are visiting a classroom.
• Parents must come to the office if they are picking up their child
from school even if they have sent a note informing the teacher.
• All helpers at the school must wear the visitor’s badge while they are
helping at the school.
• Parents must ring the office or write a note to let teachers know that
they would like to make an appointment to see a teacher. Under no
circumstances are teachers expected to give impromptu interviews.
• Any invitation to visit the school will negate the necessity to get a
visitor’s badge.
ie Assemblies, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Education Week etc.
Any person wishing to collect a child from school during normal school
hours is required to send a note to the class teacher beforehand.
Children will not be sent home unaccompanied during school hours. |
