Excellence in Scholarship, Citizenship & Personal Development

Congratulations to our PULSE CHOIR and Miss Watson for their wonderful  performance at the Sydney Opera House! ~ We are proud to announce that 638 students will be involved in our "Behaviour Award" Sausage Sizzle next week.  ~ We are currently enrolling for Kindergarten 2010. Enrolment forms can be obtained from the office.  It would be appreciated if this could be brought to the attention of any neighbours, who have a child ready to commence Kindergarten next year, and live within our boundaries.

SECTION G - HOME / SCHOOL COMMUNICATIONS

Newsletters Notes to Parents Reporting to Parents

1. NEWSLETTERS

The school newsletter,’The Endeavour Log’, is sent home to parents every second Thursday. It contains reports on happenings throughout the school, advises of forthcoming events and contains samples of children’s work.

2. NOTES TO PARENTS

From time to time notes are sent to parents requesting a written reply in the form of a tear-off slip. Parents are asked to return such slips promptly. In general we attempt to send all notes home on Thursdays with ‘The Endeavour Log’.

3. REPORTING TO PARENTS

a) VERBAL REPORTS

At the beginning of each year, grade orientation afternoons are held. Parents are invited to meet as a group with the class teacher to discuss areas that will be covered during the year. Parents are invited to ask questions and join in discussions.

At the end of Term 1 or early Term 2, parents are offered personal interviews with class teachers to discuss a child’s progress or behaviour.

At other times during the year a parent or teacher may request an interview if there are concerns about a child’s progress or behaviour. All these interviews are by appointment only. Requests for appointments should be made through the school office or by letter to the class teacher.

b) WRITTEN REPORTS

Regular assessments, class tests and grade tests are used as the basis of compiling written reports on the progress of each pupil. These are sent home at the end of second and fourth term.

In all reporting, we try as far as possible to treat each child as an individual and give a true picture of strengths and weaknesses in academic subjects, conduct, attitudes and social development. We encourage parents to advise us if they know of circumstances which may affect their child’s progress and/or behaviour at school.
